There are a range of differernt materials that work in synergy to contruct cheryl's star persona.

What's synergy?  Synergy is the interaction of elements that when combined produce a total effect that is greater than the sum of the individual elements, contributions.

Here is the elements that create cheryl's 'look' some positive some negative.

Positive

Magazines - Being on the front cover of well known bristish magazines such as Vogue, help show that she is a fashion icon of the U.K. Also that she must be a nice person, otherwise it wouldnt be popular. This is helping her star persona as it's suggesting that she is the 'ideal look' making lots of people copy her look and fashion, and a general want to be her feel.

Positive

T.V - Cheryl is seen on t.v loads. Being on nationally watched x-factor. In this she has close relationships with the contestants which makes her seem lovely. Also being in documentrys about girls aloud. And even her own show, ghost hunting with cheryl! All these together help the fans see cheryl in lots of differnt situation, which they like so that they can develop an understanding of her.

Advertisment - Going back to t.v cheryl is the front look for glamours shampoo 'L'oreal' showing that she has beautiful hair. Not only that but you can find similar adverts on bilboards, posters, magazines, and even radio. Making her better known in lots of areas of media.

Press coverage - Press like 'OK' paid for her wedding photos with ashley cole. Knowing they were the hottest couple around. They had to pay huge amounts of money for them. And everyone wanted to see them to.

Negative

Newspapers - newspapers explot cheryl in her early days of her career, when she was arrested. This was for rasism acusation and had to do a number of community service for her punishment. And the paper made sure that everybody knew about this publishing in national newspapers.
